TJ's Walk of Life
TJ’s Walks of Life
Tom Clark
TJ, also known as Shorty, is little but achieving it all.
She was walking and talking and people were saying she is too small.
That didn’t stop her, no, not at all. She took tap, ballet, gymnastics and baton, ready to show them all. Her being small soon left the stage; all that you could see was a smile, poise, and grace. When she turned 5 it was clear she had a mouth that all could hear. Her mother thought oh, she could cheer. That was it; she found her nitch, flips and cheers that was it. Though small in stature her voiced shown through and cheered her teams on all through her high school years. During this time she finds that she had Turner syndrome. What is this, she states, there is nothing wrong with me. I am just little, right? This did not phase her in her attitude just knew this was something to pursue and see if anything to do. The ear problems faded after years of problems the older she got, but found out the heart had an issue and that is all she knew.
She was ready to pursue life at its fullest, from marathons and fitness training. TJ determined to listen to advice, but not to give up. She has now done 5k run/walks and is a personal trainer. She motivates people with any challenges and states that modification and determination is the key. TJ lives to the fullest and loves to motivate anyone faced with challenges. TJ coaches cheerleading now for young girls cheer squad. She blends right in there with them, but never fears she lets them know who’s the boss. She even had one ask are you my age or my mommy’s. She blew that off as a compliment and said I am closer to your mother’s age but she still looked amazed because she was simply her size.
TJ married and knowing that she can’t have kids wondered what God had in store. They are now 5 years into their marriage and holding tight. God said now the time is right. They have found a Christian Adoption Agency and now awaiting to see what beautiful life will soon be a part of theirs. God’s plan sometimes is not ours, but somehow always comes out for the best. We can’t all have kids so the ones that need love out there we are chosen to love and nurture them to be the best they can be.
TJ’s life adventure is not over and still will have a child to raise but thankful for each day that is placed before her.
