Be Strong and Brave - by Mariya Ahmad

I am Mariya Ahmad, and I am a student in the 9th Grade. I was about 12 years old when I found about my Turner syndrome (TS). I was sort of short compared to the other students, and I was growing slower than the other children.

I had the blood test (karyotype) done and found out I had TS. Well, that was sort of shocking news! Many students used to make fun of my height, but I came through. I am 16 and I am now living my best life with my parents.

My mom Is my best motivation. She is separated, and her and my dad took care of me after their separation. I am grateful for them. The important lessons I’ve learned from my life is that you should be strong and brave, no matter what life throws at you. I have best friends. I am the most intelligent person at my school and I am happy with my life
