My Diagnosis Made Total Sense - by Erin Shick

This is my TS story! My name is Erin and I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was diagnosed with Turner syndrome (TS) at age 29 when I was pregnant with my daughter. Some lab work showed a "high possibility of TS" and I had to undergo a CVS which was inconclusive because the baby's karyotype did not show TS but the placenta did. Simple blood work from me confirmed that I do indeed have TS. Once I was diagnosed, it made total sense. I'm 5'1, struggle with spatial reasoning and anxiety, have some neck webbing, and have always had very irregular periods.

Since my diagnosis, I've made it a point to learn as much as I can and work to continue to inspire young women. I am even more special and unique because of my TS. I am a full-time lawyer, but I also really enjoy spending time with my beautiful daughter (who is now 18 months), my husband and two dogs, reading, cooking, and watching reality TV (a guilty pleasure). I love reading all your stories too!
